Filipiniana Dessert Table

Our balikbayan niece celebrated her 3rd birthday with a "Hello Kitty in Manila" theme.  Decorating her cake are popular Filipino landmarks & icons like Luneta, San Agustin Church, kalesa, sari-sari store, carabao and coconut trees.

The dessert table includes local delicacies such as silvanas, yema candies, polvoron and turon.

She may not be a cat but she's one of our most requested characters from clients. We've created several versions of Hello Kitty cakes and she is simply adorable.

Cherry Blossoms

The kitchen was busy at this hour decorating a birthday cake filled with cherry blossoms.

These flowers are made from gumpaste. To make a flower, it is rolled, cut, wired, hanged and left to dry on a rack. Once they're ready, we dust them with glitter and arrange the wired flowers into a bouquet. Just like the one you see on this photo.

They look real and it amazes me that these are blossoming right here at home.
